Adding joy to his soaring career graph, Ajith also attained the bliss
of fatherhood when Shalini gave birth to a baby girl in the wee hours
of January 3, 2008. To share his joy and to invite him to watch his
latest blockbuster Billa, Ajith called on the Chief Minister at his
home today.
The meeting lasted for about 15 minutes during the course of which
the CM congratulated Ajith on becoming a father. Ajith extended
invitation to Karunanidhi for an exclusive screening of Billa for
which the CM seems to have consented. Sources stated the star was
also assured that the CM would communicate a probable date for the
screening.
Ajith is on a brief sabbatical now taking time to spend with the new
inclusion of his family after which his next project with Raju
Sundaram will kick-start.

The Billa wave or is it a tsunami continues unabated with the film reporting an unbelievable 90 percent from 10 Chennai screens in its third week! From Chennai city alone Pyramid Saimira the distributors of Billa has got a two week share of Rs 2.72 crore, the second highest share for any film from city area! The new number two is Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par which has more shows and a bigger screen in Sathyam in its second week, and has collected more in its second week than the first week! At number three is Welcome which is holding on impressively in its second week. In the fourth position is The Grudge-2, and Vel holds on in fifth position.

It won’t be long before the pitter-patter of baby feet fills the Ajith-Shalini homestead! But for now it will be the soft goo goo’s and the hungry squeals!
Billa brought 2007 to a grand closing and a healthy baby has given 2008 a grand opening, for Ajith and wife Shalini! Much deserved, good times have kicked in for the star, professionally and personally!
At a press meet held a few days prior to the release of Billa, Ajith said that all he prayed for was for the good health of his wife and their child. Well, his prayers have been answered, indeed! At 1.30am this morning, our Ultimate Star, turned daddy to a cute li’l baby girl! The new born weighed a healthy 3.3 kilos at the time of birth. In spite of the Caesarian section, new mom Shalini, is all smiles and cheer, and why not?!

Our beloved 'Thalai', 'Ultimate' star Ajit has become a dad! Today (January 3), around 2 a.m. in the morning, Ajit and his lovely wife Shalini were blessed with a baby girl.
Shalini was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Wednesday evening and the doctors decided to go for a Caesarean operation. Both mother and child are in good health and Shalini's mother is by her side.
Recently, Ajit had said at a press meet: "Both Shalini and I are not bothered whether we have a boy or a girl. All we want is a healthy baby."
Ajit, in spite of his big Billa release, was by Shalini's side in the last one month, nursing her and making her feel comfortable.
For the first time since their marriage, the couple preferred to usher in the New Year at home. And the couple could not have asked for a better New Year gift!

Shalini was admitted in Apollo Hospital in Chennai yesterday morning. The child was born after a caesarian operation. Both the mother and child are in good condition, confirm the sources close to the couple.
The couple couldn’t have had a better New Year gift. Ajith, who is basking in the glory of the success of his latest film ‘Billa’, is on cloud nine. The couple is quite happy to have a new entrant in their life.
It’s worth recalling that Ajith said in a press meet conducted prior to the release of ‘Billa’ that he or Shalini had no choice regarding the gender of the baby. “We want the child to be healthy”, was his response.
