Rajini's Kuselan hits theatres

Technical team behind Rajinikanth's Kuselan, which releases today where the superstar plays himself, relives the 80-day schedule.

Everytime a Rajini movie is filmed the biggest work for the crew is to keep in mind the phenomenal number of Rajini fans.

And living up to their expectations is the most daunting task for the technical team that is behind the scenes.

Even for a veteran art director like Thotta Tharani every Rajini movie is a test in itself. Kuselan he says was no different.

"We thought of shooting the movie in a real location but we could not get the right place. So the entire movie is a set we had to erect everything from scratch and the team was very easy and flexible to work that reduced the pressure on me," said Thotta Tharani, Art Director.

For Arvind Krishna it was awe inspiring to work with the perfect trio of P Vasu, K Balachander and Rajinikanth.

A young cinematographer he in his fifth movie Arvind says there was a lot of pressure working with the doyens of Tamil cinema.

"There were 2 big challenges. One it's a very realistic movie and to shoot such a movie and to bring things just as you see on screen was a little difficult. I learnt a lot from the senior people like Balachander. It's a very emotional movie. To bring out the emotions well was my second challenge," said Arvind Krishna, Cinematographer.

It took just 80 days to complete the bilingual movie.
